Madam Yasmin Zainal

DIRECTOR

Dr(H) Yasmin is the founder of Sakeenah Medicare as well as a registered and certified Homeopathy Physician. She obtained her Bachelor in Homeopathic Medical Science (Hons.) from University of Cyberjaya (Formerly known as CUCMS) in Malaysia (the only homeopathic programme approved by MQA). She’s currently pursuing her studies in Master of Science (Medicine) in UiTM Sg. Buloh. She is also a member of Malaysian Homeopathic Medical Council (MPHM) as well as under Traditional and Complementary Medicine Division of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM). She is also a member of Persatuan Perubatan Homeopati Malaysia (PPHM).

She has worked in private Homeopathic Clinics and practices such as Homeopathy Centre at University of Cyberjaya. She has also extensively gained her clinical training under Dr.M.L Dhawale Memorial Homeopathic Institute in Mumbai (India). This include dealing with cases under various departments such as Dermatology, Geriatric, Paediatric, Psychiatric, Nephrology, and Orthopaedic (where the integration of Homeopathy and Modern Medicine was holistically practised). Aside from that, she is experienced in handling various cases ranging from Eczema, Allergic Rhinitis, Sinusitis, Anxiety, GERD, Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, GIT conditions as well as others.

More importantly, she is passionate not only about increasing awareness and building a better understanding of Homeopathy across communities in Malaysia. But also in striving to provide the best form of treatment while enhancing her patients’ wellness and lifestyle.

Ms Sarah is the co-founder and managing director of Sakeenah Medicare. She is also a certified and registered Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about increasing awareness about mental health, in the hopes of bridging the gaps to normalise mental health, particularly in Malaysia. She completed her undergraduate studies with Honours in Psychology with Counselling Skills at Middlesex University (UK University) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Cyberjaya in Malaysia. She’s also furthering her PhD in Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedicine under Management & Science University (MSU). She is also affiliated as a member of Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP), Persatuan Psikologi Malaysia (PSIMA), and the British Psychological Society (MBPsS).

Additionally, she has worked in private and government practices, psychological centres, private and special needs schools within Malaysia and United Arab Emirates. She also received her Clinical training at UiTM Medical Private Specialist Centre (Selayang), Klinik Psikologi Kesihatan UKM, and CUCMS Health and Psychology Clinic. She is experienced in working with people from diverse backgrounds and psychological difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders. Her expertise further lies in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments among children and adults with different psychological issues and neurodevelopmental disorders including Intellectual Disability, Dyslexia, Attention Deficit- Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disorders.

By implementing a collaborative and supportive therapeutic approach, she has observed the growth and positive changes that her clients has undergone. This drives her to continue helping individuals in improving their quality of life and helping them to reach the highest potential of themselves. She genuinely believes that the very first step to self-recovery and growth is to simply start with oneself, and the rest will follow.

Dr. Mohd Erfan Edros is a Medical Doctor who had obtained his MBBCh Medical Degree with high honour in September 2012 from Alexandria University’s Faculty of Medicine, Egypt. He is currently at his 9th year of service. He began his career as a medical doctor at Hospital Serdang, Selangor for 2 years before he travelled to East Malaysia to continue serving for the community at the interior part of Sabah where he was stationed at Hospital Tenom. There, he spent almost 2 years of his service in managing patients in different fields including emergency, outpatient clinic, communicable & non-communicable diseases, paediatrics, general obstetrics, internal medicine, quit smoking clinic, among others. He later returned back to Klang Valley where he continued his duty at General Hospital Kuala Lumpur in neurosurgical department for a few years. Currently, he’s paving his way into the field of public health at Kuala Lumpur state’s health department specifically in CDC (centres for disease control & prevention), which concerns with the healthcare of the community in general, including in combatting the current COVID-19 health crisis.


He believes in the holistic approach in treating his patients since medicine is forever changing and being rigid by sticking only to one method of treatment is never a relevant option. Hence, it should cater to the optimal needs of each patient physically, mentally, spiritually and socio-economically.

Ms Nur Alya

 CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Ms Nur Alya is a certified and registered Clinical Psychologist. She is also affiliated as a member of Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP). She completed both her Bachelor Degree of Social Science (Psychology) with Honors and her Master of Clinical Psychology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

She has high curiosity, and she believes that learning can happen anywhere at any time. Attending clinical cases allows her to fulfill that value where she would opt for variety of techniques and approaches to suit the client’s needs even if she must explore more than usual. During her practicum years, she received clinical supervisions from Psychology Health Clinic UKM followed by Child Development Center (CDC), Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz and Unit Psikologi & Kaunseling, Hospital Permai Johor Bahru.

Ms Alya has administered various assessments including cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments on clients across ages and backgrounds. She also attended wide ranges of cases including depression, anxiety disorder (including selective mutism and phobia), obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, behavioral issues, neurodevelopmental disorders, grief as well as trauma-related issues. The cases were managed by applying the most suitable approach according to each client (i.e., Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT, behavior modification, Transactional Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), grief therapy and art therapy). She’s able to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Sign language as well.

She is genuinely grateful for trust from all the clients which allows her to explore their cases with diverse approaches; they are indeed the best teachers. She reckons that each process crucial in the client’s growth and most importantly, she hopes that every client would be softer to themselves and the first step to this is by reaching out.

Ms Andrea (Ching Lee Ying) is a certified clinical psychologist. She completed her Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) Psychology at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She furthered her studies in Masters in Clinical Psychology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Within her personal circle, Ms Andrea encountered close friends who struggled with mental health issues, family issues, and difficulty adjusting to challenges and demands as they entered adulthood. Hence, she was motivated to train as a clinical psychologist to better assist individuals who may experience similar struggles. During her clinical placement training at the UKM Health Psychology Clinic, Private Specialist Centre at Universiti Teknologi MARA (Selayang), and Genius Kurnia (Kuala Lumpur), she had worked with patients from various backgrounds including children, adolescents and adults. She has experience conducting assessments and interventions for disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety. Apart from that, she’s able to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) languages.

Ms Andrea has used Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and art activities with her patients. She uses skills such as mindfulness and acceptance to encourage her patients to acknowledge their needs and emotions while reducing the blame they may have towards themselves. She also encourages the use of art activities to help her patients explore their issues and ways to overcome their challenges as well as gain a deeper understanding of themselves. She firmly believes in being gentle with oneself as we are all finding our way in the world.

Madam Maisarah Izzati

HOMEOPATHY PHYSICIAN

Dr(H) Maisarah is a certified and registered Homeopathy Physician. She has obtained her Bachelor in Homeopathic Medical Science (Hons.) from the University of Cyberjaya (Formerly known as CUCMS) in Malaysia. She is also a member of Malaysian Homeopathic Medical Council.


​She has worked in a private clinic under the supervision of Dato Dr Suriyakhatun Osaman (a distinguished Medical Doctor as well as Homeopathy Physician). She has also dealt with various cases ranging from allergies, respiratory to GIT conditions such as GERD gastric. Apart from that, she is passionate about self-growth and learning, where she is currently pursuing her studies in Classical Homeopathy by Dr Gaurang Gaaikwad (an established and well known Homeopathy Physician in India). She strongly believes that understanding a person’s physical and mental state is the path to achieving optimal wellness.

Dr(H) Bryan is a certified Homeopathy Physician. He has attained his qualifications in Diploma in Pharmacy from Malacca International College of Science and Technology (MICOST) and Bachelor in Homeopathic Medical Science (Hons.) from the University of Cyberjaya (Formerly known as CUCMS) in Malaysia. He is a former aromatherapist working under Doterra company before he actually undergone his field of study. Beyond being a passionate Homeopathy Physician, he also embarked his new journey as a medical assistant, and acting assistant director of a nursing care team in a geriatric care center located in Durian Tunggal, Malacca.

He has worked and practiced Homeopathy with its philosophy in various locations such as private homeopathy clinic in Malacca and homeopathic institute in Palghar, India. He has experience in dealing with various cases ranging from Hypertension, myocardial infarction (MI), respiratory diseases, Gastric, Gerd, anxiety, dermatological diseases, orthopedic cases such as bone fractures, and reproductive organ diseases. He upholds the principle of “sincerity and passion” during his practice because he genuinely believes that every patient should be treated with passion, care and most necessarily the truth. Aside from that, he is someone who loves to explore and engage in different environment because he believes that he will grow further in this path.

More importantly, he is passionate in creating a better healthcare system, while at the same time striving to achieve the highest quality of life for all the patients he encounters.

Hasan Fahmi

Dr(H) Hasan is a certified and registered Homeopathy Physician as well as a Physical Trainer. He has obtained his Bachelor in Homeopathic Medical Science (Hons.) from the University of Cyberjaya in Malaysia. He has also obtained his Diploma in Sport Science from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM). Apart from that, he is a member of Persatuan Perubatan Homeopathy Bumiputra Malaysia (PPHBM), which is registered under Malaysian Homeopathic Medical Council (MHMC).

He has also worked in a number of Homeopathic Establishments in Kelantan, Perak and Melaka. He is experience in treating with various cases ranging from musculoskeletal problem, skin conditions as well as others. Meanwhile, he also specialize as a Physical Trainer, where he deals with other health conditions such as obesity and sports injury. This include regular consultations, monitoring, advise related to patients’ treatments and activities along with their diet.

Ms Marjanhanani is a certified and registered Clinical Psychologist. She is also affiliated as a member of Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP), which focuses on providing various psychological services such assessments and interventions). She completed her Bachelor Degree in Psychology at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). During her undergraduate internship, she observed and identified that there was an increasing need for mental health services to help with psychological issues among society. However despite this, there were still a huge lack of mental health professionals. This was the very thing that contributed to her decision in furthering her studies in Master of Clinical Psychology. Thereafter, she obtained a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

She has gained her clinical skills and undergone clinical placements at Klinik Psikologi Kesihatan, UKM, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), and Hospital Permai Johor Bahru. Furthermore, She has been trained in a number of various assessments namely (i.e. cognitive, personality and behavioural assessments) and psychotherapies (i.e. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), behaviour modification/Applied Behavioural Analysis, Couple Therapy, Family Therapy and others).

Apart from that, she has handled various cases including Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Personality Disorders, trauma-related disorders, psychosis-like symptoms, neurodevelopmental disorders, behaviour issues, relationship issues and parenting skills training (from different backgrounds and ages). She humbly believes that those who reach out for help related to mental health issues are not weak, but rather they are strong enough to be able to the first step to embracing the journey towards improving their life. She has always been passionate about being in this field and look forward to working collaboratively with those who are willing to allow her to help them.

COUNSELLOR

Mohd Izzamuddin is a certified and registered counsellor. He completed his Bachelor Degree in Counselling at Universiti Malaysia Terrenganu (UMT) and furthered his studies in Master of Counselling under UMT.

During his clinical training, he has worked across various age groups and populations covering mental health issues. He has also handled diverse cases including interpersonal difficulties, family conflict, marital issues, single parenting, emotional and behavioural problems. His specialisation lies in crisis intervention, relationship issues, and adjustments difficulties. Meanwhile, he also offered counselling services for patients struggling with substance abuse issues and worked with families to help support and treat their individual behaviors.

At the same time, he was actively involved in research project as a research assistant related to psychology human development. This allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding this. He believes that each individual has a purpose, meaning and objective value. People are not born as merely empty vessels upon which a society grants the right and value to. Because of that, he believes that everyone have their inherent value, purpose and meaning, and he hopes to contribute in paving that way for such individuals.

Ms Wani Amira is a certified clinical psychologist who is passionate in helping people experience utmost happiness regardless of the challenges they face. She has obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Ohio State University (OSU), United States and subsequently furthered her study in Masters in Clinical Psychology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

She first realised her interest in Clinical Psychology when she first worked with a team of clinical psychologists in conducting Intensive Intervention and Education Program (IIEP) for special needs children in Malaysia during her summer break. Upon her return to United States, her drive to serve the community has led her to volunteer at an autism school for while completing her undergraduate study. She has been actively involved in suicide prevention programmes in OSU and has collaborated with university counsellor to conduct various programs to improve mental health wellbeing of Malaysian students in OSU.

Throughout her postgraduate study, Ms Wani Amira has undergone her clinical placements at Klinik Psikologi Kesihatan, UKM, UiTM Private Specialist Centre (Sungai Buloh), and Psycle Consultancy. She has administered and interpreted a wide variety of psychological assessments involving children and adults to help establish diagnosis and aide her treatment plan. Besides, she has experience conducting psychotherapies to client with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, trauma-related disorders, and clients from LGBT community. She has also conducted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Pain Management to chronic pain patients from Pain Clinic, Hospital Selayang to help manage their pain severity and emotional difficulties. Ms Wani Amira believes that her empathic understanding has helped strengthen her therapeutic relationship with clients and therefore resulted in positive changes in their behaviour. She loves to emphasize on the role of diet, exercise, and sleep as the main pillars of mental health.

Julia Khaw is a Clinical Psychologist, specialising in neuropsychology. She completed her BSc (Hon) in Psychology at Sunway University, Malaysia and continued pursuing her MSc in Neuropsychology at Maastricht University, The Netherlands.

She was involved in aging and stroke research at the University of Oxford, UK and Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. To continue her vision to be a scientist-practitioner, she returned to The National University of Malaysia (UKM) and completed her MA of Clinical Psychology in 2020.

She was trained in various mental healthcare settings, including the UKM Health Psychology Clinic, Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Neurology at University Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center, and a private psychology clinic in Selangor. The patient population she has managed included neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder), depression, anxiety, substance use disorder, and neurological diseases (e.g. stroke, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, dementia).

Her approach to psychotherapy is to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for patients to address their emotions and thoughts that have created difficulties in their lives. To do this, she utilises skills like mindfulness, acceptance, emotional regulation, cognitive modification, and revisiting the patient’s past experiences in life. She encourages her patients to lean towards their inner resources to manage outside challenges that can sometimes seem out of control. The goal is to help patients to understand where they came from, experience the present, and effectively deal with future challenges.
